Dansyl-DL-valine cyclohexylammonium salt is potentially useful for labeling peptides. Dansylation has been known to increase the ionization of certain hydrophilic substances more than the hydrophobic ones. The dansyl group reacts with the N-terminal region of free amino acids. This type of short peptide labeling is potentially useful for Mas Spec analysis.
